Comin' At Ya Like A Whirlwind!

Well, during my lunch break I was taking a walk around The Mall (not to be confused with the mall). While there, I spied the Top 40 albums in Sam Goody and decided that we're taking over.

What do I mean? Well, take a look at my favorites of the Top 40:

Out of Time

So, Third Day's coming out with a new album. Some would be excited, but looking at the signs, I'm not. I think they're losing it.

I remember the good days. In 1997 I got Conspiracy No. 5, an amazing rock album that included such songs as "Alien," "My Hope Is You," "Who Am I," and the epic "Gomer's Theme." My sisters and my parents didn't think their well-produced rock was cool, but I dugg it.

The "Christian" Problem

If you're in the Christian music business or are interested in it at all, I reccomend you look at yesterday's post by Andrew Osenga. He may ramble on a bit, but he has some great thoughts for us in the industry to ponder. And, at cMusicWeb.com, some of his points are why we believe it's not a bad thing to look at music outside of the industry sometimes. Out ther, at least, artists write about what they're really thinking and feeling.

The Major-Label Surprise Is Here!

OK, so maybe it wasn't the big surprise. But announced yeterday was The Elms announcement of being signed to Nashville-based Universal South. Also, the band will go into the studio and co-produce their album with David Bianco (Tom Petty, Rage Against The Machine, AC/DC, Black Crowes, Primal Scream). Sounds like a great position for my favorite rock 'n' roll band to be in. Let's just hope Universal doesn't keep the album in limbo for too many months. These guys are ready to dominate and I can't wait too long for new music.

My New PAL

Tivoli Audio\'s iPALLadies and Gentlemen, I'd like to introduce you to my newest friend, the Tivoli Audio iPAL. It plugs into my new iPod and plays the music wherever I would like to go.

Festvials and Stuff

So yeah, yesterday I got back from the Sonshine Festival. It was not the most exciting one I've been too, and me and my friends did too many social things for my taste. (For me, it's all about getting as much music in as possible, while for others, it's about hanging out with friends and some music.) But we caught the important shows.

The Live 8 Problem

I agree with Andy's thoughts. We shouldn't be so worried about insulating ourselves from society, we should be interested in helping others. It was nice to have Jars of Clay representin' in Philly, even though they only did two songs.

New Music

I picked up a couple new CDs and they gave me one of those summer samplers from EMI. About half of it is new music, so it's pretty cool to hear some fresh stuff. Plus, it was free.

Manafest sounds like another Eminem ripoff with a lot of Thousand Foot Krutch thrown in. Oh wait, maybe that's because Trevor from TFK was guest spotting on the track. ;-)

Music Podcast?

Speaking of podcasting, I'm thinking about a music podcast of music from cMusicWeb.com. I'm not sure if I can do this, though. It seems the legality of podcasting music is really in question and the RIAA is a scary organization. So, if I can work out the logistics, it might happen in the near future.

New From Coldplay

X&Y - ColdplayToday I went out and picked up the new release from Coldplay: X&Y. And believe me, it's worth the $10 if you at all liked their first two albums.
