The Final Star Wars

I couldn't wait until Saturday, so I decided to get very little work done today and go to the movies. Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith is definitely a dark film, but it does answer just about every question I've ever had about the series. People said it was pretty action-packed, and it was, but there are still some slow times where they're just talking and romancin'. And yeah, it was definitely more violent and dark than the previous films. But none of that detracted from it, I don't think.

On Saturday evening I'm gonna see it in a state-of-the art DLP theater, so that should be really cool. I'm anxious to see how the difference between film and digital on the big screen - it should be cool.

D'oh!

Darn it! I just found out that the exact same time that Eisley and Lovedrug are coming to town is when my sister's graduation party is!

I can't miss her party, so I guess I'll have to miss the show I most wanted to go to this year. That sucks.

Hiring is Obsolete

OK, so for me it's mostly preaching to the choir. I currently don't like hiring people, although I try to be as kind to them as possible because they hold the key to a job. It's not that I hate them personally, I just hate the rules that say that I'm not worth hiring. I just hate the fact that I have to kiss up to them and say exactly what they want to hear, even if it's not true. I'd rather say it like it is, thus we both know what we're getting into.

This columnist says that Hiring is Obsolete. While I don't know if that's true, I'm not sure about what I want to do about it. People have been saying that I should start my own website company, but I don't feel ready for it. Sure, I've done a number of projects myself, but that's really different from running your own company. If the full-time job does not come, I may consider it, but I'm still having a hell of a time trying to work from home, so I'd need to do something about that too.

EDIT: Half the reason I put this up there was because I didn't finish reading it and wanted to read it later. I still haven't finished reading it, but it does look like a good read, so that's the other half of why I pointed it out.

Dunno

Well, I don't know if it was a virus or just the hard drive malfunctioning, but whatever it was, it was bad. I ended up buying a new hard drive to get up and running as soon as possible. But I am currently chatting with Dell Support and they'll send me a replacement for the old hard drive. So, now I got tons of space!

Is This Some Kind Of CHALLENGE!?!

So, once again, either God or myself have given me a computer challenge. Earlier this afternoon my computer contracted a virus, shut down before I could fix it, and then obviously wouldn't restart Windows. So, now I have the challenge of fixing it. If I knew what the virus was....

Kids, remember never to play around with e-mails that you don't know where they are from. Some will give your computer viruses!

Stop Presses!

Browsing through Amazon.com can be dangerous. On the other hand, you can stumble on some great things. For example, I just added to my wishlist the October release of The Complete Calvin and Hobbes.

Once I get that and the complete collection of FoxTrot, I won't need to read the comics in the paper anymore.

How Lightsabers Work

The factual website How Stuff Works has a great article on How Lightsabers Work. Very informative, and very useful for those technology users who always wanted to know.

Wanna Go To Madagascar?

You won't get that until you go see The Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy. But I'm not saying you have to.

The movie was fairly good. It's definitely full of the weird British humor that makes you chuckle more than laugh out loud, just like the books (or at least that's what it does to me). Martin Freeman is amazing, Mos Def is cool enough, both of Sam Rockwell's heads steal the show, and Zooey Deschanel just looks just as hot as she did in that little elf suit at a department store in that one Christmas movie with Will Farrel. ;-)

Like I said, it's not so amazing it's required viewing, but it's at least worth a watch, no matter if it's in theaters or on DVD. I guess I wouldn't mind them making more if they wanted, but I kinda doubt it'll happen. Just remember to bring your towel along!

Music Update

OK, here's what I've been checkin' out lately:

The latest from Mae, The Everglow, is really good. Great songwriting and a cohesive album with great packaging. Too bad most don't have that these days.

I found out that Eisley, one of my new favorite bands, is also bringing along one of my other new favorites for their summer tour. Don't miss Eisley with Lovedrug at The Quest on June 17th or a show near you. Eisley also speaks very highly of the other band, Pilotdrift, so I hope it will be an all-around solid show.

The live DVD from The Elms is definitely worth the dough. The boys have put together a great project and worked so very hard on it - it was really good to hear it after them getting me more and more excited for a whole year. I doubt they could've done a better job, unless you wanted a 5.1 mix.
