Album Of The Day: Milk & Honey by Crowder

Album Art of Crowder's Milk And Honey album - On a white background, in the middle is a gold ring that has 'Milk and Honey' etched into the top of the ring. In the bottom right, there are two black bars with a 'Crowder' word mark between them, in all caps with some of the vertical bits of letters missing.

"There is no fear, you belong here / Step into the house of the Lord" Released 5 years ago today, this is the fourth studio album from Christian pop/folk/rock/electronic musician Crowder. For nearly 15 years now, David Crowder has been going by just "Crowder" and doing his thing, mixing all kinds of genres with praise and worship lyrics, but more of a pop/rock vibe than most church worship bands. This album is my favorite of the Crowder years so far, as it's just a non-stop party. It's got a bit more of a dance vibe than his other albums and a bit more of a Gospel vibe as well, including help from fellow Atlanta group Maverick City Music on a few tracks. And while "Good God Almighty" and "In The House" bring the amped up vibe, "He Is" and "God Really Loves Us" bring some excellent melodies and slow things down a bit. It's not a two hour extravaganza like the last David Crowder Band album, but this is a quick 40 minutes of solid music from someone I've been listening to for over 25 years now. Is it a bit cheesy in spots? Maybe. But sometimes I just need to be reminded of the basics with a catchy song.
