Album Of The Day: Them by PFR

Released 30 years ago today, this is the fourth album from Christian rock band PFR. This three-piece band has a great sound and mixes a lot of styles; I feel like their harmonies remind me of The Beatles, but the guitars, drums and bass definitely sound more modern than that. Joel Hanson (guitar) and Patrick Andrew (bass) also switch off lead vocals, and Mark Nash is on the drums. Although many of the songs have religious themes in their lyrics, most of them are more generally about life that even non-Christians can probably appreciate the music. I've never been a huge fan of this band and didn't really hear their albums until the 2000s, but became more of a fan when i saw them play live for the first time about two years ago. The band members were 30 years older than when they recorded their first few albums, but they still had it and played those songs really well! PFR recently recorded a new album for the first time in over 20 years and it will release this fall. I'm excited to hear that and maybe see them live.
