Album Of The Day: Out Of The Grey by Out Of The Grey

Album Art of Out Of The Grey's self-titled album - A close-up photo of two faces, and either the lighting was very odd or the photo was highly edited. Their faces look a pale orange, though I believe they are white persons, and it looks like the man might be wearing a black suit and the woman a aqua green top, and a deep blue background can be briefly seen between them. The woman is looking into frame from the left and the man is just looking straight on on the right, both looking at the camera. The woman has brown hair and the main has black hair. At the bottom, it has the band name printed in a light pink with a black box behind most of the letters.

Released 35 years ago today, this is the first album from husband-and-wife pop/rock duo Out Of The Grey. Christine Denté takes lead vocals and has a beautiful voice, and Scott Denté has some good backing vocals as well as plays guitar. Charlie Peacock produces this debut and though it is adult contemporary pop, it has more of a jazz-y, soft rock edge than most of Christian contemporary music from this time. Although I like a few of their later albums more, this is a pretty good 40 minutes of music and it did rank number 47 on CCM Magazine's Top 100 albums list. This is definitely not an album I have listened to often, but it's pretty good.
